Time For Tea.

As some of you may know, I am currently studying fashion/textiles at A Level. Now its coming to the end of my coursework project, and I've finally nearly finished after half a year of work (pheww!) although I've really enjoyed doing this project, I am definitely ready for something new so I cant wait to get the exam titles to start all over again for (I'm hoping) something bigger and better this time!

So before I get way too over my head with this new project, I just thought I'd share with you my latest creation to see what I've been up to for my final year at college. The title of my project was Collections, and for this I chose an English Tea Party and had the collections of cupcakes, tea cups and doilies.

I started off making cupcakes with my boyfriend and decorating them with colourful sweeties :), this is where I got my colour theme from. I got into looking at doilies and as you'll see on my dress, I interpreted them and free stitched them by hand on the machine :). I also looked at the Japanese Tea Celebrations which is where the Kimono and styling came from. To mix these two cultures together I made the skirt inspired by the cupcake cases and the circles are to resemble cup rims in the tea party (and of course it wouldn't be complete without a bow...or two!) hehe.

Take a look at my dress... modeled by my beautiful sister Lily.

There we are my lovelies! Please let me know what you think! Would love to hear everyone's comments on it as I had such fun making it :D x
